Hoegaarden annihilates Becks

Hoegaarden will now face Bacardi’s Hi-5 for the last seat in the championship game set for next week Monday at the Ada gym.

The winner of this bout will then face the National Team to fight for the trophy on the court and to add themselves to the CNMI’s basketball archives.

The Becks actually had the lead at first with Anthony Diaz pioneering the Becks’ success by bagging 14 points quickly and smoothly. Diaz scored 20 points over all.

Meanwhile teammate James Camacho contributed 6 points to the team making sure that they secured their lead over the Hoegaardens.

Kevin Fitial was also aglow in the second quarter of the game as he took a piece of the victory from first quarter and fended off 6 points for his team. The crowd went wild for the MMA fighter turned basketball player.

Anthony Diaz shoots another downtown shot and sinks it in while teammate Gil Gapor successfully sinks two free-throw shots. Together, they secured a 9 point lead over the exhausted Hoegaardens.

Junar Guiab of team Hoegaarden was able to slip past the Becks’ defense and score 6 points for the deprived IT&E.

The Hoegaardens finally got their act together with Coach Norman Del Rosario cheering his team on.

It all started with Robeldo Talania scoring 5 points for his team, this gave courage and strength to his teammate.

Followed by his herculean attempt came teammate Junar Guiab sinking another 6 points. Guiab’s second attempt to bag the ball in was successful because of this he was then able to tie the score 52-52.

After that, the game was tossed back and forth. The final two minutes were going by quickly but Hoegaarden remained cool and calm playing the man-to-man tactic.

Star player of the Night, Melvin Capalad was able to bag 8 points in the last two minutes of the game. Because of his successful charity shots, he widened the gap to a secure win for the Hoegaardens, 66-62. The Hoegaardens now faces team Hi-5. Stay tuned.
