Since 2005, he said, the Salvation Army has been giving assistance to the homeless people on Saipan.
“We do have homeless people on Saipan but the number is not great. We provide them withfood and clothes,” he said.
Bank of Hawaii senior vice president John Sheather said it was the first time they gave cash to the Salvation Army on Saipan.
But the bank has been giving regularly assistance to the group in Hawaii, he added.

The bank, he added, is more than happy to participate in such programs.
Sheather said they also gave donations to the American Red Cross and Karidat.

Gillespie said he was impressed with the support of the Bank of Hawaii.
“The Bank of Hawaii is an active participants in the local community. They have a well-organized program and policy to help the local community,” he said.
