Seven Japanese journalists from print and broadcast media in Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka including three newspapers, two women magazines and one FM radio station are now in the Island for a media coverage that expected to reach a total of 4 million consumers across three regions in Japan.
“Continental Airlines is organizing media familiarization tour from Japan to Palau. This is a joint promotion of Japan with the Palau Visitors Authority to promote Palau as perfect leisure destination for Japanese travelers.” Koji Nagata, director of Corporate Communications-Asia/Pacific said in an interview.
Media familiarization tours are good example of Continental Airlines’ continued efforts to promote and showcase Palau as a perfect leisure destination to the general public in Japan. Continental Airlines has convenient access to Palau via Guam from nine cities, namely Sapporo, Sendai, Niigata, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Okayama, Hiroshima and Fukuoka.
Starting on Oct. 2 Continental Airlines has improved its daily Palau-Guam flight schedule. Continental increased its non-stop frequency from four times weekly to six times weekly. In addition to these non-stop flights a flight from Palau to Guam will make a stopover in Yap every Sunday and a flight from Guam to Palau will make a same stopover in Yap every Saturday.
“Palau is one of the most important beyond-Guam destinations for Continental Airlines and we are excited to work with the PVA to introduce the beauty of Palau to more Japanese travelers through this important media familiarization tour.” Nagata added. “We are flying to Palau for 40 years and Continental is the only airlines that provides daily regular service schedule between Japan-Palau via Guam.
He also said that starting on the 1st quarter of next year; Continental is eyeing to have non-stop service flights from several cities of Japan to Palau.
The seven journalists are expected to leave the island on Friday morning.
