Monsters crush Ebisuyas, 84-78

Sonny Ebuen led the way for the Monsters during the final quarter, hammering a couple undefended jumpers. Ebuen scored several more baskets earlier in the game, piling 18 points during the first half.

The Ebisuyas stayed close behind throughout the game, but couldn’t hold the Monsters off before the time ran out.

Tight passes put the Monsters at an advantage. After assisting Jun Tabora with a two-pointer, Mike Babauta followed up with another basket. George De Guzman utilized his two free throws before the game ended, while Fyke Sabino pulled an extra point. Tabora helped Ebuen earlier in the game, putting the Monsters at a 49-44 lead after the second quarter.

Ferdie Tobias had a chance to score two more points for the Monsters, but missed both his free throw shots. A few turnovers pushed the Monsters farther ahead, with Ebuen and Tabora racking a combined 55 points.

Success for Konflikts

Along with the Monsters and Ebisuyas were the MAFEA – Ali’i Konflikts and Bayani – Soul Jazzes, who finally completed their game last Monday.

With the Konflikts originally in the lead, the Bayanis had no time to catch up and lost by 75-54. The Bayanis had no time to recuperate after Elmer Esdrelon dominated the court with his three-pointers last week Tuesday. Esdrelon earned a clean 26 points from the game, half of which came from the first quarter.
