Bezzant said the federal court’s clerk of court Galo Perez, who has been in service for over 40 years, will be retiring by the end of the year and the position will be upgraded to clerk of court/part-time magistrate judge.
The vacancy announcement came out yesterday and will end on Nov. 20. The position becomes available on Jan. 1, 2010.
The clerk of court is responsible for managing court administrative functions under the direction of the chief judge.
