PTC needed to beat the Jaypers with an eight-point lead to hang on to dear life but top scorer, Perry Inos Jr., scored only two points to end the final quarter with a measly 68-65 result.
Alex Lauron who helped keep the defense strong through out the game grabbing most rebounds scored 26 points, including his six free throws.
The Jaypers’ Vonvon Tamayo sizzled with 33 points including the three-point shot he blasted in the last few seconds of the game and Chris Camacho deprived PTC of the needed life saver by blocking two attempts.
PTC was leading by four but the Jaypers mounted the rally to turn the game around. The first half ended with the Jaypers enjoying a four-point lead.
With Alex Lauron taking two steals and Art Trajano and Inos blocking inside plays, PTC clamped the Jaypers; offense in the third quarter to take the lead again. Inos fired eight of his points in this canto.
Tamayo led the rally again in the fourth quarter basketing 11 of his total points to keep close.
E&E 69, Olivos 67
Alex Ocampo and Danny Bicera carried the team together in the first quarter firing 10 and six points respectively and E&E refused to give up leading to their 69-67 victory over Olivos.
After tying the game at the end of the first quarter, E&E mounted the attack with Mark Francisco blasting twice from behind the arc while Ocampo and Bicera kept the surge both scoring eight more points in the second quarter.
Buds Camacho rampaged in the third quarter to tie the game and Melvin Capalad chipped in eight points to help Olivos take the lead again.
Camacho went on to his shooting spree in the final quarter to keep Olivos close to winning the game but Francis Serranos’ three-pointer and Ocampo’s final two made it hard for them.
Camacho led Olivos in a losing attempt with 33 points.
