PDM Promoters Inc. coordinator Sonia Siwa said the confirmed participation of six more schools in addition to first nine schools who expressed interest to join completed the final list.
The schools who will be competing for various awards and prizes for this year are San Antonio Elementary School, Saipan Community School, Koblerville Elementary School, Dandan Elementary School, Saipan Seventh-Day Adventist School, Tanapag Elementary School, Kagman Elementary School, San Vicente Elementary School, Ladera International School of Saipan, Oleai Elementary School, Grace Christian Academy-Saipan, Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School, William S. Reyes Elementary School, Joshua Generation International Academy and Garapan Elementary School.
Siwa said the participating schools will showcase their artistic talents in decorating Christmas trees provided to them on the afternoon of Dec. 2. The unveiling and judging will be on the following day during the Thursday street market.
The participants will be decorating the Christmas trees with recycled adornment.
Paseo de Marianas Promoters hopes young students will realize that there is beauty in recycling objects.
The Christmas tree Decoration Contest is in collaboration with Beautify CNMI, the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs and the Division of Environmental Quality.
Siwa said for the second time, the manamko’ will be joining the Christmas tree decorating.
“Once again, we are expecting a colorful event and invites the participation of the community,” she said.
