SIS students learn about marine life

Starmer was the guest speaker of the school’s  outdoor science class at the 13 Fishermen Memorial yesterday.

Science teacher Faye Docula said “this experience gives students hands-on experience on the subject I am teaching them. I can see that this is an effective way to teach the kids.”

Docula wants the students to know the importance of protecting the environment, specifically marine life.

Some of the parents joined children’s outdoor adventure.

“This experience is important for my kid to know what is happening to the marine life of our island,” said Steve Nutting, one of the parents.

He wants his children to be aware of the degradation happening in the Saipan lagoon and hopes that the youth will help prevent further damage.
