Dermot Keane, General Manager of Sam’s Tours said that there are about 50 kids from the United States coming to Palau to participate in the first ever Sea Camp in Palau.
Kids Sea Camp is a fun-filled vacation for families and their kids who love the ocean. The program will run from Nov. 21 to 28.
Keane said that the Sea Camp has been founded by Margo Payton, and through the camp, kids participating can become PADI certified divers.
The program will be divided into PADI Snorkel and SASY training; This program is for kids age 4-7 ; PADI Seal Team; This program is for kids age 8 and up PADI Junior Open; This program is for kids age 10-14 PADI Open Water; This program is for kids and adults age 15 and up PADI Jr Advanced Open Water; This program is for kids 12 and up provides a depth of 65 feet.
Keane said the program is “ to bring new people into the dive industry.”
Sea Camp has been to locations such as Florida, Bahamas, Fiji, Bonaire and Galapagos.
Keane added that aside from fun-filled activities, there is also the education component of the program which is marine education and ocean environment.
He said the Camp” will be a great exposure for Palau as a tourist destination.”
This year’s sea camp will run for one week but next year’s program will be expanded to two weeks.
