The wife of former Gov. Jackson Ngiraingas — who is now minister of public infrastructure, industries and commerce — garnered 277 votes, and was followed by Charles Desengei “Des” Matsutaro with 268; Billy Rekemel, 256; Lucky Ngiradonges, 231; and Johannes Tsuneo, 218.
The losing candidates were Evence Kebekol, with 209 votes; Barret Ridep, 165; Postol Remeliik, 162; and James Beluong, 129.
Mrs. Ngiraingas is currently working for the Palau Supreme Court as clerk IV.
For the hamlet legislative seats, the winners were Alex Ridep-Ngiraingas in Ngerchol,93 votes; Kalbesang Soalablai, 34 in Ngerdelolk; Joe B. Nobuo, 75 inNgesias; and Gene Tkel, 31 in Teliu.
They ran unopposed.
In Ngerkeukl. Edwight Mengirarou received 52 votes to defeat Ethiopia “Pia” Mabelwho got 45.
