BTA holds White Gala fundraising event for School of Tourism

The event was held at the Palau Pacific Resort and was attended by more than 200 people from government and private sectors.

Vice President Kerai Mariur was the special guest of the evening.

BTA has yet to announce how much money was raised during the event but the association distributed more than 100 tickets that cost $50 each.

Construction of the school would cost $750,000 and so far only $205,000 has been raised.

The crowd was treated with good foods, entertainment and raffle draws.

Emellakl Coyotes dancers performed traditional dances while Japanese singer Michika Sekeguchi delighted the audience with her Japanese songs.

A fashion show was also held where young ladies modeled the creations of Omsangel Dress Shop and Mari-Chan.

The highlight of the event was the synchronized swimming exhibition of the members of the Palau National Swim Team.

Antja Flowers, Keesha Keene, Gayle Bornovski, Osisang Chilton and Maria Gibbons performed a ‘dramatic synchronized swimming ‘ which was highly applauded by the audience.

The girls were under the training of Coach Tina Shima.
