Yano and Uludong joined Minister Sandra Sumang Pierantozzi, Rose Ongalibang and Naomi Ngirakameran as members of the council.
Yano was appointed by the OEK, while Uludong was appointed by the president.
During the meeting, members of the council also reviewed its history and updated itself on the functions of the Archives. Its efforts are focused primarily on promulgating regulations pursuant to the National Archives act. Then it will start organizing procedures for all government agencies for the storage and archiving of their records.
One of the council’s roles is to seek public and private grants to fund the Archive’s works. And in the past it has received close to $40,000 in grants. It has helped the Ministry of Community and Cultural affairs in organizing their records for archiving purposes.
