He said that out of the $20, $5 will go to the Micronesian Games funding and $10 will go to health care. The proposed amount will be included in the supplemental budget that the president will send to Olbiil Era Kelulau this January.
Since November last year, all tourists are being charged an additional $15 Protected Area Network or Green Fee upon departure on top of the $20 departure tax. The Green Fee helps fund Palau’s natural resource conservation endeavors.
The president is also proposing that Non-Palauan passport holders also pay additional $15 green fee to avoid confusion at the airport.
