Law clerk discusses government with 3rd graders

The school invited Stanker, who works with Justice Alexandro C. Castro, to do a presentation about the legislative, executive and judicial branches of government.

He started his talk at 10 a.m. and his presentation focused more on the judicial branch.

“I was able to give them insight on how the court works,” Stanker said.

He volunteered to do it for the students so they may have a broader understanding of what happens in court.

Justice Castro, he added, wants to extend help to educational activities.

The teachers said they were very thankful for Stanker’s volunteering his time.

“They were really fascinated about the talk,” the law clerk said. “They asked me what they have to do to become a lawyer.”

He said he told them that they should finish high school and then go to law school.

At the end of the presentation, most of the students said they wanted to become lawyers.
