Crisanto Maderal Olivos and Maria Calipay Maderal Camacho denied the charge on Friday that they conspired to defraud the U.S. government and committed immigration document fraud.
The court named Colin Thompson as counsel for Olivos, while attorney Robert Torres will represent Camacho.
During the arraignment on Friday, Olivos was in court, while Camacho was arraigned through video conference from Guam and was represented by Assistant Federal Public Defender Richard Arens.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kirk Schuler and Marivic David represented the federal government.
Jury trial will start on Feb. 22, while pretrial motions should be filed on Jan. 22, the court said.
The court directed Olivos and Camacho not to have contact with each other, including with Gail Camacho.
Records showed that Olivos married a U.S. citizen in 2001, facilitated by Maria Camacho.
After securing his “green card” in Jan. 2007, Olivos divorced his wife in Aug. 2007.
