EUCON International University is proud to announce that Shanel Sablan, a dedicated administrative professional and mental health advocate, has been awarded EUCON’s first MBA scholarship of 2025 designated for a CNMI local resident. This marks a historic milestone in EUCON’s ongoing mission to uplift and empower Indigenous talent across the Northern Mariana Islands.
Shanel brings with her over a decade of rich professional experience, ranging from administrative leadership to frontline healthcare coordination. Currently serving as program manager at Youth Empowerment Solution in Saipan, she has shown exceptional commitment to supporting youth, managing multi-agency collaborations, and ensuring operational excellence in mental health services. She is also a recognized mental health advocate, having earned certifications in Crisis Intervention and De-escalation (2024) and as a Practitioner of Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy (2023).
A proud Chamorro woman, Shanel is pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Southern New Hampshire University while holding an associate degree from Bellevue University. Her journey has been marked by resilience, servant leadership, and a heart for her community— qualities that made her a perfect recipient of EUCON’s prestigious MBA opportunity.
“This scholarship is more than financial aid — it is an investment in the future of our islands,” said Dr. Christian Wei, president of EUCON International University. “Shanel represents the first of many. Through her, we are affirming our commitment to train, equip, and launch CNMI’s local leaders in business, education, and social innovation.”
EUCON’s MBA program is designed to cultivate ethical, visionary leaders grounded in Christian values and global business acumen. As the first local recipient of the scholarship in 2025, Shanel will pave the way for more Chamorro and Carolinian professionals to rise into leadership roles that shape the future of the CNMI.
Upon graduating in August 2026, Shanel will also be the first beneficiary of EUCON’s new Entrepreneurship and Innovation Division, which offers graduates personalized guidance in career placement, startup development, and project incubation — right here in Saipan. This initiative ensures that education doesn’t just end in the classroom; it translates into local impact and real-world success.
“Shanel is a trailblazer,” said Sen. Corina Magofna. “But she is not the last. EUCON is actively preparing to award more scholarships to qualified local residents, empowering them to study, serve, and succeed without leaving the islands they love.”
EUCON invites the broader community to celebrate this achievement and to support the movement of equipping local minds for global impact. The future of the CNMI will be shaped by leaders like Shanel — rooted in home, ready for the world.
