Residents participate in military buildup forum

During the forum, Office of Economic Adjustment representatives Gary Kuwabara and Rick Solander and  members of the Guam Advisory Consulting Team explained the contents of the draft EIS.

They also heard and answered comments, suggestions and inquiries from the residents, most of whom expressed concerns regarding a military training ground on Tinian.

The public has until Feb. 17 to send their comments about the draft EIS.

Those who are interested in sending comments may mail them to JPGO c/o NVAFAC Pacific 258 Makalapa Dr. Suite 100, Pearl Harbor, HI 96860-3134.

You can post comments online at www.guambuildupeis.us.

Last year, a group of archaeologists visited Tinian and Saipan to solicit public comments on how the military buildup and the proposed military training site projects will affect the islands’ archaeological artifacts and historical places.
