Rabby Syed, the president of United Workers Movement, which is helping the former garment workers, said they want to sue the Garment Workers Trust Fund headed by former Judge Timothy Bellas for mismanagement of funds.
But Syed said they found it hard to look for a lawyer. “Some of them are busy and others reasoned cited a conflict of interest,” he said.
The federal court has dismissed their motion for a temporary restraining order, but the former garment workers are more determined to pursue their case, Syed said.
He said their group will look for lawyers on Guam or even in the states.
Bellas, in an interim report to the federal court regarding the disbursement of $625,000, said the recipients included the Saipan Swim Club, Whispering Palms School and Saipan Southern High School.
Syed wants to know why Whispering Palms School, a private institution, was chosen by Bellas.
