Associate Judge David Wiseman sentenced Angey, 40, to 364 days of imprisonment, all suspended, except for 10 days already served.
Angey was also placed on supervised probation for the remaining period of his suspended sentence under the direction of the Office of Adult Probation.
He will pay a $100 fine, a $25 assessment fee and perform 100 hours of community work service.
His restitution and review hearing was set for June 23, 2010.
On Feb. 3, 2010, Assistant Attorney General Brian Gallagher, who prosecuted the case, and Assistant Public Defender Richard Miller who represented Angey, told the court that the defendant would enter a guilty plea.
Records showed that Angey repeatedly struck a female household member — in the presence of a child — with a metal broom on Nov. 25, 2008.
