The SGA’s first best ball of the year, the event drew the most participants compared to the group’s previous games.
Manibusan and Takai birdied in Hole No. 9 to cap the front nine with 1-under par 35. They improved in the back nine firing 4-under par 32 with birdies in Holes 11 and 12.
The dynamic duo’s eagle soared high above the 27 birdies that were shot by 11 other pairs of golfers in the event. They shot 67 and combined 31 handicaps to finish with 36 net.
Steve Jang and Ed Sablan were just a single stroke behind to win the second place. They had the most birdies and shot 4-under par 68. The Jang-Sablan duo birdied twice to shoot 34 in the front nine and had four birdies in the back and went 2-under par 34 as well.
Jun Teack and Martin Sablan had three birdies grossed 70 to settle for the third place. They tied it with Jang-Sablan team on 34 in the front nine but they fell behind by two strokes in the back.
Nick Sablan and Frances Sablan shot 2-over par 74 and finished with 39 net to take the fourth place, while Ray San Nicolas and Joe Sablan who pared 72 came up with 40 net for the fifth place.
The teams of Jang and Sablan, and Allan Perez and Bob Magofna shots the longest drive in Holes 5 and 7 respectively.
The Jang-Sablan tandem also had the most skins (3), while Manibusan-Takai; San Nicolas-Sablan and the tandem of Ray Dela Cruz and John Cruz had one skins each.
The Dela Cruz-Cruz team, John Babauta and Joe Deleon Guerrero had greenies in the front nine, while Manibusan-Takai team; Jang-Sablan in the back nine.
