As the games for the InterScholastic League continues last week, team PHS Gold were not able to sustain their game plan all throughout the match, as team BMS took the driver seat and created scoring opportunities that gave them the lead towards the end of the regulation. From there BMS controlled the tempo of the game to end the match with a final score of 32 – 28.
Six teams were formed from different high schools namely the Palau High School Spiders, Mindszenty High School Cardinals, Palau Mission Academy Crusaders, Belau Modekngei School, and two teams from the Emmaus High School Knights joined the hunt to be the best up and coming basketball cagers on the island. Games are scheduled to start every 4 p.m sharp at different venues such as the Emmaus High School, Mindszenty High School, Palau High School courts, and the Palau National Gymnasium.
As the ground rules set for all ISL Games, students participating for the their respective schools must meet the ISL GPA requirement of a minimum of 2.0 taken from the second quarter grades and that teams must provide at least one student volunteer to table the official at each of the other games.
FIBA rules applies all throughout the games however the matches will be on running time wherein the game clock will stop for free throw situations, the last minute of each quarter, and the last 2 minutes of the fourth.
The ISL basketball is another program supervised by the Palau Basketball Federation who promotes an absolutely no alcohol, no drugs allowed at all venues.
