With the Pacific Trading Company as its main sponsor, the Masters League opening according to MBFNMI board chairman Ray Lizama will be a historic day and he is inviting all basketball fans to become part of it.
As the MBFNMI continues its fundraising, there will be a raffle draw of prizes from sponsors that include Trench Warz tickets from Trench Tech; Mc Donalds gift certificates, Gold Gym passes, Pacific Island Club gift certificates, Hyatt Regency gift certificates, MBFNMI T-Shirts, IT&E products and Fiesta Hotel gift certificates.
Talent shows will also grace the opening ceremony.
There will be performance numbers from Inatuas Dancers, Big Beats Band, Marianas High School color guards, and Pacific Flowers Dancers.
The MBFNMI board of directors, Lizama said is extending its outmost gratitude and appreciation to all the sponsors for “stepping up to the plate.”
The main sponsor is Pacific Trading Company, and the co-sponsors include Tan Sui Lin Foundations, Island Apparel, IT&E, Pacific Islands Club, Micronesian Brokers, Trench Tech Purebred Saipan, Fotten Gaga, Mc Donalds Restaurant, Gold’s Gym, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Fiesta Resort and Spa, NMC-ITT Media Dept., Marianas High School Color Guards, Pacific Flowers Dancers, Inatuas Dancers, Big Beats Band, Mike Salas, Power 99, KZMI Radio Station, KSPN2 and all the Masters Basketball fans.
Of the 17 teams, those who have confirmed names are IT&E, Konflikt, Easy Does It, Island Apparel, Below the Rim, Dante Olivos Teams 1, Dante Olivos Team 2 and Ol’Aces.
The league will have top eight in the playoff which will be on a single elimination format.
There will be four games on Saturday starting from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and two games on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The MBFNMI is still working out for the possibility of having one game on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.
