With his college education and his senatorial experience, Paul A. Manglona, Senate president, means so much to all of us here in the Marianas including Guam to look around us and look at the bigger picture. To me, it clearly means that we are to focus on the main thing and keep the man thing the main thing:
1) We the people of the Mariana Islands truly own the Mariana Islands handed down from our ancestors and to our future generation of children. The Latte Stone with the pillar and cap is testimonial of our ownership as Marianas people our ancestors inherited and their Marianas generation continue to be the owner of the Mariana Islands — to freely travel among the islands; communication was evidence of the loving and understanding people of the Marianas;
2) Somewhere, sometime during the development of civilization of the world, greed and inhumane corruption became apparent — somebody sold Guam (one of the islands of the Marianas) to the United States of America. That is clearly and absolutely an act of terrorism — to sell Guam and its people to a nation without 2/3 consent of the other Chamorro of the Mariana Islands. The entire population of the Marianas (not one person alone) can negotiate selling Guam — the rest of the people must included in affirming the agreement or sale. Should there be a need for me to express myself of my ownership of the island and waters surrounding the islands, I was born on the island of Rota and am of Marianas decent which makes me own the entire Marianas. Example: If Texas is to be purchased by China, Russia cannot just negotiate with China and sell the state of Texas. Should that happen, that again is an act of terrorism. If we Americans want to get out of this economic crisis and the Texas American wish to incorporate with China no matter how strong their desire — if not 2/3 of the U.S. Congress and the Senate of the U,S, approve, then a bill must be introduced by the U.S. legislature and its people with the majority approving the state of Texas to incorporate with China and the president approves, then it is legal and not an act of terrorism;
3) We thank the Lord that “In God We Trust” that we are an American citizen just as the people of Guam. Again, I am looking at a bigger picture and that all this happened to the people of the Marianas because of our very strong belief and faith in God that we are not separated with Guam or the Marianas in any way. Documents have been written detailing the demise of the Marianas and how they were to be completely extinct and how their culture and language should already be extinguished. All of the population north of Guam were captured unwillingly and submitted by force to keep all the islands north of Guam completely extinct of the Chamorro people. They succeeded in removing all inhabitants of the islands except for the neighboring island of Rota — Rota has miracle water in the Marianas — clear and sweet coming from the mountain stream. The Chamorro people know the island of Rota, including the Chamorro brought to Guam — the last island to be captured by the terrorists with no success for the people know how to survive on the natural resources and water in the mountain. During that period, the Chamorro from Guam and Rota who are left were expert in navigating their canoe enabling them to interact in their language, culture and tradition by continually informing each other what is going on with the people of the Mariana Islands in Guam. During those days when the Chamorro were not prepared for any invasion, they used muskets and other ammunitions to exterminate population. The news came to Rota and reported the highest chief in Rota that the people being brought to Guam discovered that the Chamorro language was very much alive. The chief of Rota went to Guam and slaughtered San Vittores and then returned to Rota. This was very bad news to the terrorist in Guam that in spite of the fact that the Chamorro people from Rota had no guns or ammunition they were able to kill San Vittores. In retaliation, the terrorists sent a fleet of commandos to Rota but could not capture anyone. They finally spoke to the indigent people to talk to the chief and how to talk about peaceful negotiations but instead when the chief appeared he was captured and brought to Guam and killed;
4) Now that we are in this modern civilization and we are all American citizens of the United States of America (including Guam), it is the greatest circumstance for us because this is governed by law and President Obama (of African parentage) was born in Hawaii, and since our Constitution is governed by law, our generation can also become president of the Unites States as long as we are American citizens. President Barack Obama, his wife and two daughters are in the White House as president and first lady of the United States of America. When the Japanese invaded the United States during World War II two states were attacked — one was the state of Hawaii and the other they actually invaded and settled in was Alaska. So, looking at this economic crunch and the idea for our Senate President Paul A. Manglona, to look into the bigger picture, I would like to offer perhaps my viewpoint. I would never like to (a) vote again for reunification or unification for the Chamorro people of the Marianas to satisfy a terrorist act and claim that 1 have a majority vote to reunite; (b) the Marianas were never disunited or traumatized by their own wishes or will; (c) every Marianas citizen from our ancestral time to this time were all owners of all islands of the Marianas; (d) should there be any island of the Marianas to secede from the Marianas and the people, the people must first approve and accept the U.S. Congress and the Senate should pass a legislation; and until the president of the United States signs this piece of legislation, then that specific island in the Marianas will live by the law.
Finally, considering the bigger picture, we should rally for any state of the United States (I prefer the state of former Gov. Sarah Palm — Alaska). In order to incorporate the Mariana Islands as the state of Alaska has, one must first establish themselves and then create sub-committees and seek help from other states for becoming incorporated. Look at the map of Alaska and you will see. Why not add another to it which includes Guam and all the islands north?…Us. The people should be open for plebiscite where we could master a bigger picture of ourselves. I am a realist. What we will contribute now and in the future will reflect our ancestors and the founding fathers) that makes us all Americans. I have been united and will always remain united; and I am a legal owner of all the islands of the Marianas descent — including Guam. Si Yu’us Ma’ase.
