KHS, MHS-1 face rematch in MISO football finals

This came after MHS-1 who were oozing with confidence towards the end of the first half defeated Southern Saipan High School during last Wednesday’s play off at the SSHS field.

KHS beat MHS-1, 1-0 in the regular season and sent MHS-1’s twin team MHS-2 down to its knees, 2-1 during a play-off match at the Oleai Sports Complex ball field last Monday.

MHS’s first team got the chance to get back at KHS last Wednesday by staging a stunning attack against SSHS defenders, hitting two goals in the second half to secure their 3-1 win.

Elisa Fejeran did great in setting the offensives for MHS-1.

Jacque Wonenberg’s goal after a cross-pass from Elisa Fejeran in the 10th minute of the first half gave the MHS-1 girls the adrenaline surge.

SSHS made several attempts to goal midway to the end of the first half but tMHS-1 defenders, Krystal Garcia and Christine Rengeil protected

their lead with stiff defense.

A throw-in from Fejeran in the 19th minute of the second half gave Krizzelle Alforeza the task to stretch their lead, and she succeeded hitting the goal right from the center, for a 2-0 advantage.

With seven minutes left in the ball game, Fejeran took her turn to finish SSHS off. Spotting a clear path at the right side of the field, Fejeran had a 20-yard break away and goaled to widen the gap, 3-0.

SSHS’ Dennapa Sanchez was few yards to the box when she received a cross pass from forwarder and hit their first goal with only four minutes left.

So, the MHS-1 girls did not have much hard time to defend their territory as time ran out for SSHS to come back.
