Teen pleads guilty to attempted burglary

Associate Judge David Wiseman imposed on Roman Cabrera, 19, a two-year jail term, all suspended, except for time served of at least eight weeks.

Cabrera yesterday attended his change of plea hearing under the custody of the Department of Corrections.

He was accompanied by attorney Joshua Berger.

Assistant Attorney General Brian Gallagher represented the government.

The court said Cabrera will be placed under supervised release for the remaining term of his sentence.

He will also pay a $100 assessment fee and a probation fee to be determined by the Office of Adult Probation.

He will perform 100 hours of community service.

Cabrera was arrested in connection with  an attempted burglary on Jan. 12, 2010.
