Letter to the Editor: The party of hope vs the party of nope

Our 111th Congress displayed their core beliefs and principles on what’s best for the American people.

This was a battle of life and death in preserving the American people’s lives.

On the right, there is the tea party of fear mongering, and on the left, the party of progress and reform.

It was crazy watching our 111th Congress exchange heated words. There was a short moment when the chairperson had to stop the heated debate just to go over a comment made by a U.S Democrat accusing the U.S. Republicans of lying to the people about how the U.S. Democrats are short-changing the healthcare of the U.S. war veterans. But the chairperson warned the congressional members to direct their arguments to the House chair and not to each member of both parties.

It was like watching boys and girls fighting in a candy store. Who will get the most candy? It was kind of childish seeing our Congress members display different emotions and attitudes. It was sometimes very serious and kind of comedy at times. I was wondering to myself that some were spirited debate and some were just for fear debate but the bottom-line in my observation is it’s a practical, logical, ethical, moral, honest debate for both parties to explain to the American people their healthcare prescription plan on who’s right and who’s correct in their healthcare debate.

But the bottom-line of this heated healthcare debate is which party can convince the American people that they can deliver on their promise to the American people, at same time lower the national debt and balance the budget and help people get back to work to have job security.

As the majority party in the U.S. Congress, the Democrats claim they are the party of hope calling the U.S. Republicans the party of nope.

This heated debate was informational and educational and in the end, the U.S. Democrats won this healthcare fight to restore social justice and bring liberty and pursuit of happiness to all American people.

This healthcare victory is for the American people and justice for all at last. This is the message to the American people.
