CUC systems maintenance

Again, the projects will involve the replacement of deteriorated power poles and many defective pole hardware such as pole top pins, insulators along with the replacement of an air break switch. The projects are scheduled to commence at 7:30 a.m. and be completed at 4:30p.m. on the designated days.

Listed below are March project dates and locations:

• March 6 – Kagman Homestead, 62 PTP/1ABS

• March 13 – Kagman Homestead, PTP

• March 20 – Dandan Homestead to Obyan area, PTP

• March 28 – Feeder 4,3,1 and Kiya 1 and 2, Replacement of deteriorated poles/1 ABS

For March 6, the project will be conducted in Kagman III, Phase III on the primary lines and laterals, which will require a power outage affecting the entire Kagman area and portions of Papago from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  Then the primary line will be re-energized.  Thereafter, the line crew will continue working on certain laterals in Kagman III throughout the day and will only interrupt power to perform necessary repairs.

Performing these maintenance activities will strengthen the electrical system and replacing of the ABS will allow the line crew to minimize the number of customers inconvenienced by future power interruptions.

These power interruptions are required for the safety of the linemen as they perform their work.

CUC apologizes for any inconvenience the power interruptions may impose on the community and their consumers and will continue to work diligently to minimize future interruptions.

Joeten-Kiyu Public Library Bookmobile schedule

(JKPL) — The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library would like to expand and bring its Bookmobile and Homework Center services to children and parents in the community.

Its goal is to bring such services directly to students who are struggling with their homework and/or who are having difficulty accessing JKPL in order to have the opportunity to borrow books and related multimedia library materials off site in the villages.

The opportunity to integrate bookmobile and homework assistance services is part of the 2009 competitive grant that JKPL receives and will continue to reapply for.

JKPL rules and procedures will remain and be applicable to its outreach services, including application for library cards by children through their parents and/or guardians, accessing library materials only through library cards, imposition of fines and fees for late, damaged, or lost materials, registration to participate in availing homework assistance after school at each site, etc.
