Chairman of the organizing committee, Senator Regis Akitaya with Senator Joel Toribiong attended team Palau gathering on a lunch hour Tuesday, as they discuss further the developments and updates of all federations that will be representing Team Palau at this coming 7th Micronesian Games.
Before teams updated everyone about their status, Frank Kyota, humbly asked a member of the PNOC Board of Director, Caleb Otto, to explain more about the anti-doping campaign that will be eventually utilized in time for the upcoming summer games.
In continuation of the meeting, managers and coaches of each sports federation in alphabetical form were then asked of their updates, concerns, and other things they need to discuss to the organizing committee that could help strengthen the each team’s preparations before the games.
Nearly all associations are set and have started their rigorous training everyday that lasts 2 hours a day and at least six days a week to help them to be conditioned and ready to capture the highest medal which is Gold. Men’s Canoe Coach, Tino Faatuala even reiterated that there will be guaranteed gold for team Palau Men’s canoe just like what they did back in 2006 Micro Games in Saipan.
At the end of the meeting, everybody agreed on having a once a month assembly starting Thursday, April 8, 2010 at around 6pm at the Palau National Gymnasium with all the athletes, managers, coaches and anybody involved in the preparation of the entire Team Palau to instill the spirit of allegiance, commitment, and solidarity.
