Education Commissioner Rita Sablan told Senate President Paul A. Manglona, Ind.-Rota, that the Public School System conducted its 10th advanced placement training at Marianas High School from Aug. 2 to 6 for the teachers who wanted to teach advanced courses in calculus, science and English.
The teachers who completed the training, Sablan said, can now work on reviewing their syllabus so it can be certified throughout the school year.
Sablan also informed Manglona that Rota High School will offer advanced placement courses in English and math in the next school year, and is currently working on advanced placement training for the teachers of Rota Junior High School.
Sablan was responding to Manglona’s inquiry on whether Rota and Tinian high schools will offer advanced placement courses, which are designed to expand the students’ knowledge and learning styles.
They also provide students with the chance to earn college credits.
