Peleliu, Sufa, IT&E prevail in Belau Masters

Peleliu set the lead in the top of the first inning with Ogumoro firing a run-scoring double and Bernard Keleleman driving in with a sacrifice fly.

Darwin Masaharu had the only base hit in the second inning but was stranded in second base when Rubak’s pitcher struck out one and Peleliu’s Mabel Ngirngemel got run down at the first base.

The Rubaks cut the lead in the bottom of the second inning, from Martin Naputi’s RBI single.

Peleliu pulled away again in the third as pitcher Leo Bobai hit his second base hit, Dennis Renguul hit an RBI s ingle and Poland Masaharu drove in two runs with a single before Ogumoro rocketed his run-scoring home run.

Extra hitter, Donald Flores singled and Manny Cabrera drove him in with single in. Dave Kapileo drove in a run with a sacrifice fly and Ngirngemel knocked in an RBI single.

Bobai hit a triple, Rengul and Masaharu singled and Keleleman fired a run-scoring single in the fourth inning.

Darwin and Kapileo scored runs before Bobai doubled for his third basehit in the fifth inning.

Bobai had one strike out and allowed seven hits.

Payton Sakuma hit a two-run home run, a run-scoring single and scored two runs to lead Rubak’s losing attempt to come back.

Sufa 6, Lancheros 5

Jeff Cabrera hit a solo home run and the third run he scored from Ton Magofna’s single in the bottom of the seventh inning gave Sufa a 6-5 victory over the Lancheros.

Both teams showed stiff defense in the runless first inning.

Sufa mounted the attack in the second inning as Jeff Cabrera singled, Magofna doubled before John Pialuk drove in two runs with a single.

Ben Camacho fired an RBI triple and Frank Babauta drove in a run and Sufa put up the lead.

Cabrera stretched this out with a solo home run in the fourth inning.

Bill Aguon and John Maratita singled, then, Joe Lizama drove in two runs with a single and Dimas Omar sacrificed to help the Lancheros close in the top of the sixth inning.  Donald Crisostimo tied the ball game with an RBI single in the top of the seventh inning.

But Ton Magofna moved Sufa one-run away by firing his run-scoring single for the winning run in the bottom of the seventh.

IT&E 15, Salty Boys 0

Fuan Igitol drove in two runs with a homerun to give IT&E a strong first inning leading to their 15-0 rout of the Salty Boys.

Pepi Tenorio led off a single, Inos Yamada and Jack Diaz followed suit before Igitol’s HR came. Then, Larry Sebaklim added a run-scoring double.

Stan Techur and Gene Weaver singled in the second inning before Tenorio knocked in a two-run single, then, Yamada sent him home with a sacrifice fly.

Newmen Techur singled and Igitol drove him in with a single for second base hit.

Diaz singled again and Perry Besong knocked in an RBI single as well.

Yamada added an RBI single in the fifth inning while Diaz drove in two with a single, and IT&E capped their winning streak.
