Having the Women’s Canoe team split into two namely team Youngsters and Team Powerpuff grils, the whole morning paddling challenge organized by the Canoe Association of Palau demonstrated very thrilling and exciting race when they went head to head on the 500m and 1500m finals along with the two other that qualified for the last race. Team Youngsters paddled in rhythm to grab first place on the 500m finals with a time of 3:19:04 while being closely followed by their sister team, Powerpuff girls clocking in at 3:22:69 to get second. As for the other two teams, team Meluu crossed the flags at 3:37:49 to get third, while team V-Power finished with 3:39:59 settling for fourth place.
For the 1500m finals, it’s the Powerpuff girls turn to dominate as they smoothly went through their stride finishing first with a time of 9:39:22 followed once again by their team mates, Youngsters, with a time of 10:01:05. Team Meluu grabbed third again by a time of 10:49:09 trailed by team V-Power crossing the buoy at 10:52:46.
Palau Community College Men’s Team, PCC Sailers, was never to be denied as they claimed both 500m and 1500m races. After qualifying with their fastest time on all races, The Sailers never looked tired when they dictated and controlled over the two final races. Sailors went on to finish 500m races with 2:28:44 to grab first spot followed by Peter’s Posse, 2:36:93, then Team Palau Men’s time of 2:37:28 got them to third place, while Sureor Gym got fourth after finishing the race at 2:59:67.
PCC Sailors went to driver seat once more on the 1500m to win first with a time of 8:44:88 then trailed by the Team Palau Men’s Canoe with a time of 9:01:77 to get second place. Peter’s Posse garnered third with 9:06:47 while being followed by another team from PCC, the Voyagers, who managed to end the race at 10:08:23.
Six women team namely PCC Achocho, Powrerpuff girls, WWW.39ers, Youngsters, V-Power, and team Meluu and 5 men team, Sureor Gym, Peter’s Posse, PCC Voyager, PCC Sailors, and Team Palau – Canoe joined the Canoe Sprint Challenge Saturday morning.
