The office has stated that the ship is scheduled to depart from the State Center at 4 p.m. on that day and will return back in port on Sept. 5, 2010. The ship will stop for service at every island on its way out as well as on its way back to the main island of Yap.
Members of a team from the Department of Health Services will be traveling onboard to administer the final round of the H1N1 vaccination campaign in the neighboring islands where they did not complete during their last visit in the islands in June.
The ship will also pick up returning students for both the high schools in Falalop Woleai and Falalop Ulithi and those returning back to Yap for school year 2010-2011. Teachers from the neighboring islands who were brought to Yap to attend summer programs will be returning back to their respective home islands on this trip.
Private passengers booking is now open and will close on Wednesday, Aug. 18, or whenever the ship’s capacity is reached.
Travel authorizations for the scheduled trip must be turned in to the field trip section prior to the ship’s departure date. The office will open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday to accommodate those who plan to book their cargos through the gate.
