Marianas Variety learned that the Budweiser Cup was a different kind of tournament because one of the main ground rules for that night’s competition was; in order for a competing team to win, it was a race to win 4 consecutive times out of the 7 games first before the other team did.
In the first game at Utopia Bar, Hustler’s Erwin Gomez and Steven Pangilinan loses in the 8-ball doubles’ game 1 but wins games 2 and 3 against Voyager’s Marc Brian Nelvis and Luis Fajardo. Again Hustler’s Boyet Sequico and Jerry Soriano show off their billiards skills as they defeat Voyager’s JoJo Talibong and RJ Mascarinas in the 8-ball doubles’ games 1 and 3.Hustler’s Jerry Soriano and Erwin Gomez dominates against Voyager’s Rolly Villanueva and JoJo Talibong in the single’s 8-ball division giving the win to Utopia’s NTT Docomo’s Hustlers.
Meanwhile the 2nd game was launched at the same time in the VFW Post where The Fotten Palau was battling it out with VFW’s Shark Attack. Fotten Palau’s Taylor Watanabe, Arnel Orbita, John Mongami, and Ron Chisato bring on the glory home. SBA is currently setting the season’s awards banquet for Aug. 8, 11 a.m., at the Pacific Island Club’s Charley’s Cabaret.
