Rep. Ramon S. Basa, Covenant-Saipan and chair of the committee, will convene the panel to look into the proposed $132 million appropriations for FY 2011, which begins on Oct. 1.
The cash-strapped CNMI government continues to operate under the continuing budget resolution of $148 million in the absence of a new budget for the current fiscal year.
The House earlier rejected the Senate version of the budget, which will now be referred to a bicameral conference committee in an attempt to draft a bill acceptable to both chambers.
