At 6:00 in the evening, parents and chaperons with kids in tow started arriving at Palau Aquarium for the overnight lessons on Palau’s ecosystems.
Carol Emaurois, Head of Environmental Education/Public Relations Department of PICRC, delivered a short introduction of the event as T-shirts were distributed to participants.
After dinner was served, the educational tour was jump-started by a short audio-video presentation on biodiversity, which was made fun and simple even for four-year olds.
Garbed in sleepwear and armed with flash lights, the kids had fun exploring the Palau Aquarium, watching the Shark Tale movie and learning all about life in the sea.
In the morning, right after breakfast, the kids had a field day doing scavenger hunt and making seaside wreaths.
PICRC hopes to advertise Palau Aquarium as the place to be to learn various ecosystems that make up Palau’s coastal areas.
