Ben Mettao who represents the residents of Agrigan islands in the mayor’s office led his co-workers, Jeremy Topulei and Ernest Romolor to clean the sports facility.
They trimmed the grass surrounding the park and cleared the entire field of trash from morning until afternoon.
Mettao said it is the Northern Island Mayor’s Office initiative to send its staff members to serve the community. He said he and some Agrigan residents are scheduled to go back to their home island any time next month.
Mettao said they plan to stay on their island for good.
While waiting for their trip back to the north, Mettao said it would be nice to keep working with the Mayor’s office by doing community service.
Department of Community and Cultural Affairs’ Sports and Recreation director Joe Lizama, according to staff member Mario Sablan is extending their sincerest gratitude to Northern Islands Mayor Tobias Aldan.
Sablan said they Sports and Recreation appreciates Mettao, Topulei and Romolor in helping them clean the baseball field.
