Diaz placed on 3 years probation for ‘ice’ possession

Sharee Demapan Diaz, also known as Sharee Maratita, was sentenced on Tuesday by Federal Chief Judge William H. Alsup.

Diaz was directed by the court to comply with the conditions of her probation which included drug testing, substance abuse treatment program, participation in a mental health program, completing 100 hours community service, including making anti-drug speeches at schools and/or churches.

Diaz will not violate federal, state or CNMI laws and must submit a DNA sample.

She is prohibited from possessing a firearm or other dangerous weapon.

Diaz, moreover, is required to pay a $100 special assessment immediately after sentencing.

Diaz was arrested last October  with Jawn Joyner who is now serving his six-month jail term after he pleaded guilty to three counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Diaz was represented by her court-appointed attorney Michael Dotts.

Assistant U.S. Attorney James Benedetto prosecuted the case.
