Elmer Esdrelon and Melvin Capalad led Hoegaarden in the first quarter. Esdrelon hit a three while Capalad made two free throws and a two-pointer to help put up the six-point lead.
With Ngirondiongor and Tomokane sizzling with eight and six points respectively, O’ Doul’s who tightened their defense in the second quarter closed in.
Brostrom poured 10 points to keep Hoegaarden afloat at the end of the first half.
Team captain Edzel Mendoza handled the squad pretty well to have most of his assists keep Hoegaarden in front through out the ball game.
Hoegaarden stretched their lead again in the third quarter and they never looked back leaving O’ Doul’s behind by 17 points.
Brostrom finished with 19 points, Capalad had 14 points while Esdrelon and Barbo added 10 points apiece.
Bud Light 105,Michelob Ultra 55
Dan Barcinas had a pair of two-pointers and Juan Iguel attacked the basket with two-pointers to help the Bud Light CNMI Nationals bury the Michelob Ultra Sixers with 11 point-lead in the first quarter.
The Bud Light Nationals carried out at least a number of different set of plays both offense and defense, to go on with a blow out, although at some point Michelob’s towering Lee White gave them a little bit of a challenge.
The Nationals did not lax in the defense to keep Michelob struggling through out the second half. They showed no mercy as they kept bombarding them from the outside to keep the gap wide open all the way to the final buzzer.
