The NMI women spent most of the first half in the defense and goalie, Rebecca Shroeder sealed the goal with her stunning blocks to hold Guam women scoreless in the first part of the game.
Ironically, at the time NMI women pushed offense in the second half was when Guam women hit the goal in the fifth minute.
Center midfielder Rohda received a cross from Victoria Shimizu from the right side, to score their winning goal.
Guam held on to this lead all the way to the final whistle.
Center defense, Madison Smith recalled they had at least six chances to score in the second half where they started to push offense, unlike in the first half which they spent most in defense.
“It was just unfortunate that we had some mistakes,” Smith said.
For her part, goalie, Rebecca Shroeder said they actually put up a stronger defense in second half, which paved the way for them to push the offense.
They put up four-person defense in the midfield, then, shifted to another defense position to spread their opponent out from the center, when they figured out Guam women were attacking from the center.
Guam women went so fortunate to use such a narrow chance for their winning goal.
