Arts Council Executive Director Angel S. Hocog said their office needs $30,000 to pay their bills as well as send some local artists to participate in the upcoming Guam Micronesia Island Fair scheduled for Oct. 15-17.
Hocog said the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs has very limited resources to bail them out.
The council is a DCCA agency.
“To date, CCAC has unpaid bills since the recent 29th Annual Flame Tree Arts Festival,” wrote Hocog to Rep. Ramon A. Tebuteb, the Republican chairman of the Saipan delegation.
“I know times are tough but we can’t ignore the importance of our culture,” Hocog added.
