The socioeconomic training is part of PICRC’s continuing program to provide support to State governments to effectively manage their own marine protected areas.
Noelle Wenty Oldiais, PICRC Researcher, and Dr. Supin Wongbusarakum, who flew in from Hawaii, are conducting the training.
For the first two weeks, the training focuses on drafting questionnaires. On the third and fourth week, the trainees will go to Ngiwal to do the actual survey and hands-on socioeconomic assessment.
