The first break-in happened on June 14, 2010. The thieves broke in using a crowbar and stole a hedge trimmer worth approximately $300.
“The trimmer was recovered a few days later when an office staff member noticed the hedge trimmer hidden in shrub plants within the [division’s] compound,” Crime Stoppers coordinator PO2 Jason Tarkong said.
On July 4 and 6, the Parks and Rec office was burglarized again, police said.
Taken were 10 bush-cutters, two cases of oil, two-cycle oil, and four spools of trimmer line, amounting to about $5,000, Tarkong said.
