THE CNMI Republican Party on Thursday announced its endorsement of Kimberlyn King-Hinds for reelection as the Commonwealth’s delegate to the United States House of Representatives.
The Party cited King-Hinds’s record of delivering real results for the CNMI, her focus on economic recovery, and her ability to make sure the needs of the Commonwealth are heard in Washington, D.C.
“Kimberlyn King-Hinds has shown that she knows how to fight for the CNMI in a way that is serious, effective, and grounded in the needs of our people,” said Patrick Cepeda, president of the CNMI Republican Party. “She has stayed focused on the issues that matter most, including jobs, disaster recovery, small business, veterans, workforce stability, infrastructure, and the CNMI’s role in the security of the Indo-Pacific. That is the kind of leadership the Commonwealth already has in Kim.”
The CNMI Republican Party pointed to several areas where King-Hinds has already made a measurable difference.
In Congress, King-Hinds helped advance provisions that open the door for CNMI businesses to compete for military vessel repair and maintenance work. This effort recognizes the Commonwealth’s strategic location and creates a path for local companies and workers to benefit from the growing federal presence in the Pacific.
The Party also noted her work on Coast Guard expansion studies, which could lead to greater maritime presence, more port activity, stronger disaster response, and new economic opportunities for the CNMI.
At the same time, King-Hinds has helped bring millions of new federal dollars to the Commonwealth and has strengthened the CNMI’s relationships with key federal counterparts in Washington, including the White House. That matters because the CNMI needs a Delegate who can get in the room, make the case, and deliver results.
The Party also praised King-Hinds for her work following Super Typhoon Sinlaku. She moved quickly to press for federal assistance, full cost-share relief, and faster disaster response. For the CNMI, where local resources are limited and recovery costs can overwhelm government finances, strong federal engagement is essential to getting roads, utilities, public facilities, and homes restored.
“After the typhoon, Kim understood that our people needed action,” said Cepeda. “She pushed for federal help, she pushed for cost-share relief, and she made clear that the CNMI cannot be left to carry these recovery costs alone.”
The Party also highlighted King-Hinds’s work to expand access to capital for local entrepreneurs through the Northern Mariana Islands Small Business Access Act. By seeking to include the CNMI in the SBA microloan program, King-Hinds is working to give small businesses access to financing that can help them start, grow, hire, and survive in a high-cost island economy.
Education and opportunity were also central to the Party’s endorsement. King-Hinds backed legislation to provide CNMI and other territorial students with access to in-state tuition rates at certain public colleges and universities on the mainland. The Party said this would help reduce the financial penalty faced by students from the territories and create more opportunities for young people to return home with the skills needed in health care, education, engineering, business, and public service.
The CNMI Republican Party also cited King-Hinds’s leadership on workforce stabilization. Her work on long-term labor legislation addresses one of the most serious challenges facing the Commonwealth’s economy. The CNMI needs a lawful, stable, and realistic workforce system that protects local workers while also recognizing the economic reality of our islands. The Party said this work is essential for construction, health care, tourism, recovery, and basic government operations.
The endorsement also reflects King-Hinds’s focus on federal fairness for the territories. From nutrition assistance and community project funding to veterans’ services and infrastructure needs, the Party said King-Hinds has been consistent in pressing the federal government to treat the CNMI with the seriousness and respect it deserves.
“Kim is doing the work,” said Cepeda. “She is using this office to open doors, fix problems, bring attention to our challenges, and create opportunities for our people. No one else in this race has the same combination of experience, relationships, and skill to get this job done for the CNMI.”
King-Hinds thanked the CNMI Republican Party for its endorsement and said she remains focused on delivering results for the Commonwealth.
“I am grateful for the trust and confidence of the CNMI Republican Party,” said King-Hinds. “This work has always been about the people of the Commonwealth. Our families need a stronger economy, our businesses need a fair chance to grow, our students deserve opportunity, our veterans deserve care, and our islands deserve to be treated as an essential part of the United States. I will continue fighting every day to make sure the CNMI is heard, respected, and included.”
The CNMI Republican Party said the choice in this election is clear. King-Hinds has demonstrated the ability to work on the issues that matter, build relationships in Congress, and make the case that the CNMI’s success is tied to America’s strength in the Pacific.
“Kimberlyn King-Hinds has earned our endorsement because she has earned the confidence of the people who want results,” said Cepeda. “She understands the CNMI, she understands Washington, and she understands that our Commonwealth needs someone who can turn our challenges into action.”
