The summer camp accepted over 50 children since it commenced age 6 and above. The current location for the sports are the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium, the Sports complex or the Oleai sports complex, and the Francisco M. Palacios baseball field.
Yesterday during the camp the children 6 years old challenged the 7 years in a game of Tee ball at the Francisco M. Palacios baseball field. The children had a great time enjoying themselves while having fun with their playmates.
Meanwhile, the older group had a track and field competition at the Oleai Complex. They ran relay races, meter dashes, sprints, and they also had a great time just hanging around and joking with their buddies at the track and field.
The oldest group of children had fun playing volleyball with each other inside the Ada gymnasium. Once 10:05 hit though, the children were quite tired and content as they sat down for their break to grab something to eat and to get some water to drink.
For the second week of the camp, starting August 16, 2010 Group A is scheduled to try weaving, bead making, and dancing. Group B is scheduled to try bead making, dancing, and knot tying. And Group C is scheduled to try out dancing, knot tying, and paper weaving.
On August 17, 2010 all of the groups are scheduled to go across the street from the Ada gym to the big pavilion (Minachom Atdao) to try out swimming and canoeing.
On August 18, 2010 Group A and B are scheduled to have a CPA field trip. Meanwhile Group C, D, and E are scheduled to go to the Calabera Cave/Pau Pau Beach. On Thursday it will be the same place but the groups will switch so that everyone will obtain the best experience and knowledge about both trips.
On August 20, 2010 there will be a lot of presentations set for the children for their environment awareness, safety awareness, and entertainment. The DPS Dare Program will do a presentation followed by the Domestic Violence Prevention team, followed by the Fire Prevention team, and last but not least the Customs K-9 will be there.
On the final day of camp on August 21, 2010 there will be a Family Fun day held at the beach across the street from 8-11:30 AM. The chairman for this entire camp is Joe Mettao.
