The Wings Travels pulled off a strong comeback in the second half of the game after suffering from the DL Cooking Gas’ offensive, made up of Gil Gapor, Jorge De Guzman, and Sonny Ebuen.

Wings Travels’ Jessie Mina first scored a jumper, followed by another from Ron Gamboa and Leo Itaas. In no time DL Cooking Gas’ two point lead was gone, with both teams tied at 43-43 by the beginning of the fourth quarter.
While the DL Cooking Gas were busy picking up speed, the Wings Travels finally finished them off in the fourth quarter with the help of Leo Itaas and Ron Gamboa. Itaas shot for six points in the final quarter while Gamboa shot for seven.
The Wings Travels are now set to go against the Satbahes in tonight’s semifinals.
MGD defeats Trinity, 73-64
The MGDs, also known as the PTCs, qualified for the Miller Lite Invitational League’s final four after pounding the Trinities out of the quarterfinals, 73-64 last Friday at Gualo Rai Court.
The MGDs were headed by leading scorers Alex Lauron and Von Tamayo, who drove their team past the Trinities during the second half. They gained an early lead in the first quarter, scoring 18-11.
Like the MGDs, the Trinities also had a well balanced line-up of players. Among the group were Jude Loste, Eric Dulfo, and Epi Cabrera, whose combined total of 16 points in the second quarter led them to a one-point lead above the MGDs.
The MGDs retaliated by the third quarter, scoring several lay ups from Michael Achas and Lauron. Lauron pushed for eight more points in the final quarter along with another ten from Tamayo.
With time running out, the Trinities failed to catch up to Lauron and Tamayo, resulting in their nine-point loss for the night.
The MGDs are now booked for tonight’s match against the Grillin’s, who recently defeated the Archers last week.
The winning and losing teams for the night will be paired up for Wednesday’s games. The Miller Lite League’s finals will follow on Friday between the top two teams from the semifinals.
