The entry fee is $95, which includes cart and green fees, on-course refreshments, and an awards banquet to finish the day. The tournament is open to golfers of all ages, but each golfer must have an established handicap.
Entry forms are currently available at all golf courses, including the Docomo Pacific Gualo Rai office and MITA Travel in Garapan. Entry forms and payments may be submitted at Lao Lao Bay Golf Resort and at both Docomo Pacific locations.
According to James Nelson from Docomo Pacific, the deadline for registration is on Thursday, September 2. All interested golfers are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible.
The tournament will follow regulations from both the US Golf Association as well as local rules, and players will be scored through a modified Callaway scoring system.
Nelson noted that Docomo Pacific’s cellphones would definitely be a part of the tournament’s prize pool, including Hole-In-One prizes such as the 2010 Ford Ranger Pick-Up courtesy of Joeten Motors and $25,000 from Bank of Hawaii.
Show time is at 6 am, and tee off is at 7 am.
James Nelson also stated that the Marianas Tourism Education Council will be a beneficiary of the event, because “it is important that businesses both large and small support MTEC in its mission of strengthening awareness and the importance of our tourism industry to the students of the public school system.”
“The golf tournament will be one of the many community activities Docomo has been involved in this year, and it is my desire to continue building a strong relationship with the CNMI community in the years to come.”
