Men and women’s basketball teams from 37 countries will participate in the two-week youth international sports event that will be held for the first time.
It will run from August 14 to 26 at the city-state’s world class sports complex.
FIBA secretary general Patrick Baumann listed White in a nomination form dated May 17 as among the 17 referees in the basketball events for men and women.
White is among the officials of the Basketball Association of Northern Mariana Islands and Northern Marianas Athletics. He is also the president of BANMI Referees Association.
The countries that will participate in the said event are Angola, Argentina, Australia, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, Central African Republic, Chile, China, Croatia, Czechoslovakia, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, India, Iran, Israel, Italy, Ivory Coast, Japan, Korea, Lithuania, Mali, New Zealand, Panama, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, Spain, South Africa, Turkey, U.S.A, U.S. Virgin Islands and Vanuatu.
White will help run the basketball event along with referees from France, Mozambique, Russia, Brazil, Belgium, Singapore, Cuba, Turkey, Korea, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Uruguay, U.S.A, Japan and Serbia.
