Many performers to present at the Paskong Pinoy

This year’s event is expected to draw bigger crowds compare to last year when it was held at Mount Carmel activity ground, Paskong Pinoy organizer United Filipino Oganization said.

“For the first time we are holding the event at the tourist district hoping to attract more visitors and tourists,” Olive Yana, UFO adviser said.

She said they already secured support from Docomo Pacific and Tan Siu Lin Foundation as their major sponsors.

Generous cash prizes await for the Christmas lantern making contest, she said.

Indigenous and recycled materials should be used in the lantern making contest, she said, adding this will help promote the island’s culture and preserve the environment.

A choral group singing contest is also open to all, she said.

Yana said local dancers and performers have already committed to present their special numbers.

Among the performers are Umang Glee Club, Uncle Ben’s Dance Group, and the Bayani dance group.

This week, she added, they are expecting to add more to the list of participants for the program.
