Man‘amko self-produced video sold out

Some got more copies of the fund-raising video production for their family members, said Walter Manglona, who directed and produced the video.

The DVD is sold at $10 per copy. The proceeds will be deposited with  the Senior Citizens Advisory Council for future projects.

During the pre-screening, Manglona emphasized the video is not meant to embarrass but to teach and entertain senior citizens.

There were “funny” segments in the video.  But Manglona said he can delete any section if anyone from the congregate will protest for the inclusion in the final copy.

The 45-minute video, which was pre-screened last week, received great praise by viewers.

“I enjoyed it,” Bernard Sebancioul said.

Office on Aging director Rose Mondala said the video production is a good program for the group’s fund raising activity.

“The videos will serve as souvenirs of our activity at the center,” Christiana Michael said.

Teresita Sorroza, the council president said they are raising funds for its annual educational trips.

“This will keep us going. The video showcases our different talents and skills,” she said.

The video presents over 20 segments which include dances and song presentations by man’amko, narration and health promotion.

Emerenciana Delos Reyes narrated her memorable and sad experience during World War II on Saipan.

The video also shows the man’amko’s regular computer class, cultural dances, bingo games, billiard, waving and other productive activities. It also shows old video footage of those who had already passed away.

Sorroza said one of the purposes of the video is to remember their colleagues who are no longer with them.Because of his hectic schedule at the center, Manglona said he created the video at his own Jade Pro Studio.

“We are very thankful that Rose (Mondala) gave us the blessing and approval to pursue the video production,” he said.

Although the video is only for the man’amko, he said they will continue the digital yearbook production, which records all the activities of the senior citizens at the center.
