Judge Joseph Camacho ordered the remaining conditions are still in effect, and particularly directed Rana and his wife, the victim, not to discuss any matters regarding this case.
Rana was arrested on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.
The prosecution said Rana used a meat cleaver during the incident that occurred “in the presence of a child” on Nov. 14, 2011.
The victim submitted a written letter to the court, saying she was “not being myself at that time because I was filled with anger and worries about our bills.”
The victim said during the past days when her husband was not around, “everything was starting to get messy.”
The court earlier modified Rana’s $10,000 bail order. The defendant was allowed to post $800 and the remainder as unsecured bond. The court directed Rana to stay away from his wife at that time.
